Polished Blue Flash Labradorite Hippo Carving

This blue flash hippo has been painstakingly carved and polished to reveal its intense blue flash. The blue flash is caused by light reflecting off of inclusions within the stone and is a trademark of quality labradorite. This particular carving is of a hippopotamus, which is an animal that is native to Africa. Hippos are known for their large size and their aggressive nature, but they are also cherished for their protectiveness of their young.
