Amethyst is a purple variety of Quartz prized for its beauty and translucence. It typically forms as large crystals in amethyst geodes, and these specimens can be quite stunning. The significant amethyst crystal points in this particular specimen have been polished to reveal their internal structure, which has frost-like formations.
